"The Book of Lughnasadh” is the third in a year-long series of songs – one for each season, following the cross-quarter Pagan Sabbats as a guide. On Lughnasadh, ancient peoples held the first of several harvest festivals, which served as celebrations of a bounty needed to carry them through the cold sorrow to come.
