Stronghold Guardian has been delivering epic medieval dungeon synth for a while now. The usage of black metal style vocals throughout the albums has made this project very close to epic black metal - some listeners have described as "Summoning without guitars". Now, this album threads further into this territory. "Castlelord" is a special release consisting of partially reworked and remastered tracks, with added electric guitars, putting it stylistically very close to the likes of Summoning, Emyn Muil and the likes.

Tracks are from all three albums previously released, except from the title track, which is a brand new work.
