"A land in turmoil, where an abandoned castle rests in the light of the pregnant moon. Its walls battered and breached, revealing the rotting remains of those that once occupied its halls. Bats fly through the spiralled staircase of the eastern watchtower, their squeaks echoing between the scorched stone walls.

The barbican remains intact, however, it is deserted. There is nothing inside, other than a few cracked bows and a quiver left leaning against the wall. Bloated bodies drift in the moat below, disappearing underneath the charred drawbridge.

Neighbouring villages have been reduced to cinders. Smoke rises slowly from the rubble, shrouding the sky in a thick, black blanket. Rats claw their way through the dead bodies that lay scattered on the field, sniffing and licking the bloodstained armour..." (Chapter 1, pg.1, Sorcery Of Chaos)
