A young minstrel's kidnap by other-worldly knights from the fabled, spectral castle of YONDER leads to his daring escape; but not before encountering a fallen knight who gifts him a magical mercy dagger.
Fighting his way back to the Wessex downs, he meets a warlock who once served as seer and guide to the predecessor of the king. The magician reveals unimaginable horror, and the minstrel returns to his township - a forever changed soul. With this newly found madness, the minstrel sings his songs to the ever-distracted crowds.
