After their land was conquered, a small group of monks were exiled to live on a secluded peninsula just off the coast of their former home. They were left to fend for themselves and were never looked after. Weeks passed and complaints of ghostly sounds from the isle reached the new ruler. He ordered a small band of sailors and soldiers to investigate these strange sounds.

Early the following morning a mass was held at shore as dark clouds and bouts of strong winds pummeled the men as they departed. Once on the shore of the isle, men immediately became entranced by the voices that sang with the wind. Many dropped their weapons and tools and gracefully walked into the forest with their arms spread open, welcoming an unknown fate. A select few resisted these erie calls of the dead and rushed back to their boats. As they departed, they began hearing faint cries of destruction and death. From a distance they gazed in horror at the sight of the island slowly crumbling into the sea.
