Additional Details
After what has been a tumultuous year for both Infernal Symphony, and Demonic Bishop himself, comes perhaps the outfit's most complex, intriguing and sonically vicious work to date - Carnival of Chaos. Welcome to the Carnival.
A concept release that was spawned from the band's most famous track to date - Preacher Of Habit - this album uses this track as the centrepiece to a sprawling and epic indictment of a broken man's complete existence - from an unlikely conception, to troubled birth, all the way through to an abusive upbringing, difficult teenage years - and building towards a life-changing. world-shattering event - being taken in unwillingly by an evil Catholic Minister and being taken advantage of in the cruellest and most sickening of ways.
The 'Carnival Of Chaos' is a metaphor for this string of chaotic and seemingly random and destructive sequences we call life, and fittingly, unravels before your ears in a gripping and affirming fashion.
All 11 tracks tell a story of pain, sacrifice, discovery, tribulation and eventual revelation, as the prospect of death leads to the narrator's deathbed reawakening, coming to the realisation that despite all of life's hardships and suffering, there are good things that lie in wait for those whom know... where to look.
The band's first full-length concept album was born of upheaval, hardship and pain - following hot on the heels of the catastrophic losses of a family member and of much of the band's early demo work through technological malfunction, and bookended by the well-received concept EP, 'Corpus Delicti', this 60 minute tome of torment has much to prove, and is fueled by much behind the scenes anguish and darkness.
This comes through in exquisitely twisted masterpieces such as opener 'Virus Vortex', infamous lead single 'Graveyard Of The Underworld', the eye opening white-knuckle ride 'Destined For The Darkest Tides' and the disgustingly artful title track, along with re-packaged previous hits 'Preacher Of Habit' and Fostering A Demon', which finally found their home on a real LP that tells a subtle yet mind blowing tale of life, death and everything in between.
Crushing, multi-layered and expertly produced, these tracks fly by with impeding doom and unrelenting force, in what is perhaps the most cohesive and consistent release by Infernal Symphony to date. Riffs gargle with wraught fury from hell's fiercest pits, solos blister with tasteful accuracy and ripping intensity, and songs weave from moment to moment on a dynamic and adrenaline-fueled roller-coaster ride that is at once scary and comforting.
Listen for free to this seminal experience of hell on earth, and prepare to embrace the chaos.more
