“Žedj” (Thirst) was inspired by the first Serbian horror film “Leptirica” (The She-Butterfly) from 1973. This film used to serve as the rite of passage to initiate boys into manhood and although it caused severe nightmares at the time, those who dare watch it again will find nothing less than a beautiful and haunting atmosphere of Slavic rural life and folklore.
