Standing high upon a forsaken hill, Clad in fog a dule tree unwavering Is crowned by cruel vermin, forever still. The lone gibbet reigns, darkly towering. Creeping wood worms are its pernicious court, Hidden in the damp and murky darkness, Countless colluders in a crumbling fort Which they themselves gnawed into bleak starkness. Behold its train: a sad throng of jesters, Yonder they crawl upon their bleeding limbs, Self-dismembered to mock their ancestors, Colourfully robed to conceal their sins. Gaze through their myopic and addled eyes, And contemplate a great pious monarch, Whose earnest fairness hath unrivalled size, Or else crush the mirage and all is dark. Standing so high atop a most blessed hill, Light-clad their only hope unwavering Is crowned by all, bearing their pious will. The jolly king reigns, humbly towering. Surrender thy coyness, dance around him, Dance through the dewy and cheerful brightness. Or else crush the mirage and all is grim, Accursed in the damp and murky darkness. Hark their noxious and dissonant fanfare As it hails their vile ideology. Hark their empty speeches, aren’t thou aware That their precepts shall be their eulogy? Greater men have trod this fair land, With clear purpose rode arms in hand A myriad strong, a merry band. Bygone are their days, their last stand Forgot but in the sorrow of the elves. Their naive trust begot their fall, Foul shadows roam in every hall, Noxious blades enthrone any thrall And the truth lies forgot on dusty shelves. Man’s great mission was corrupted, Scorned, belittled and obstructed, For blind justice was abducted. Bygone is joy’s reign, now halted, Forgot but in the sorrow of the elves. Heed this call, all others reject: Thy fair land of wonders protect, Anew nature’s beauty erect And find the truths forgot on dusty shelves. Only thus shall life’s light return, The lone gibbet dethroned shall burn And crumble under collective spurn, As all who live for beauty yearn And glee replaces sorrow in the elves.
